The leukemias are often characterized by multiple genetic aberrations distributed across the genome. In some cases, the same genetic aberrations are shared by different types of leukemia. Trisomy 12 and deletions of chromosomes 13q (primarily the 13q14 region), 17p13.1, and 11q22.32-4.
